Wilhelmsen Ship Services is looking for an Area Port Service Engineer (PSE) Manager

The Area PSE Manager will drive the area PSE team to have close collaboration and work together with relevant stakeholders in the business to ensure customer success, customer contracts and customer service effectively and in accordance with the business needs.

The Area PSE Manager will foster processes, skill development, and capability enhancement. Implementing the PSE strategy to boost sales, enhance profitability, and achieve targeted outcomes. Facilitate collaboration among the area PSE team and stakeholders to ensure customer success, contract fulfillment, and effective customer service aligned with business objectives. Collaborate with PSE coordinators to optimize efficiency and professionalism within the PSE team.

Who you will report to:

The Area Port Service Engineer (PSE) Manager reports to Global PSE Director –works closely together with the rest of the team to promote Wilhelmsen Ships Service.

What you will be doing:  

  • Responsible for the daily operation of PSE`s in the area

  • Overall responsible for the structure and operational setup of the area PSE function in accordance with global strategy and function

  • At all times ensure an optimal organisational setup that proactively supports the responsibilities of the PSE function in agreement with Global PSE Director

  • Ensure that the personnel are trained and have the necessary skills to meet daily responsibilities and tasks

  • Responsible that the area PSE`s are compliant towards applicable processes and operational tools

  • Manage the recruitment needs and efforts for PSE staffing / resource

  • Be a role model by having a ‘can do’ forward leaning approach to strategy development, growth activities, and cross-functional collaboration

  • Support developing products, services, and digital solutions in cooperation with wider Product teams and the Global PSE Director

  • Follow up on global sales strategies, policies, campaigns, and initiatives

  • Initiates and ensures efficient implementation of local, regional and global initiatives in close cooperation with the sales and operations functions

  • Implement Key Performance Indicators and Budget for area PSE`s, and report according to agreed instructions for the area

  • Ensure that the team proactively works to solve problems and that they involve and cooperate effectively with other teams

Accountabilities 

Key KPI’s - This position will be measured against:

  • PSE capacity and utilization

  • Growth according to target

  • Product group penetration

  • Attrition of key employees

  • Product launches

  • Customer satisfaction

What you need to be successful in this role: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent – formal education in engineering, technical studies and / or business administration

  • 5+ years of managerial experience from maritime industry, preferably with P&L responsibility and service operations experience

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively within a multinational environment

  • Fluent English - both writing and speaking
