Introduction Temasek's Cybersecurity department is looking to hire full-time interns to support various cybersecurity initiatives across different teams. This internship will give you an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in planning and executing cybersecurity projects while developing valuable technical and business skills in a global investment company. The department comprises of 4 key technical pillars: (1) Defence and Resilience, (2) Governance and Oversight, (3) Architecture and Engineering Operations, and (4) Innovation, Incubation & Initiatives. Specific domain requirements are listed below, but interns would have the opportunity for cross-functional learning and experience. 1.Defence and Resilience Intern This role will assist in supporting the uplift of Temasek’s cybersecurity resilience through development and execution of an effective cyber resilience programme and establishment of new/advanced cyber capabilities to strengthen cyber awareness, enhance cyber readiness and monitoring capabilities. This enables us to driving a culture of cyber resilience across Temasek and its ecosystem. Drive security awareness through innovative and engaging methods, creating a culture where cybersecurity becomes second nature Develop compelling technical content for both technical and non-technical audiences Design interactive training programs that transform complex security concepts into actionable behaviours Plan and facilitate realistic tabletop exercises that prepare operational and management teams for real-world cyber threats Monitor effectiveness of existing awareness programmes gather feedback, and recommend enhancements for continuous improvement 2. Governance and Oversight Intern This role will assist in supporting continuous enhancement and implementation of an effective governance and risk management framework to manage technology, data security, and cyber risks across the enterprise. This will enable Temasek to be better prepared to mitigate and manage these risks in the face of evolving cybersecurity threats. Perform Governance, Risk and Compliance related duties including policy reviews, risk assessments, and control testing Identify gaps in governance frameworks and propose enhancements to strengthen oversight Provide support to GRC related reviews and processes Track audit findings and follow up with IT partners/vendors on audit/assurance findings Maintain accurate records of compliance processes risk registers, and assurance reports 3. Architecture and Engineering Operations Intern (Security Operations) This role will assist in supporting Temasek’s security operations through monitoring and compliance checks, streamlining documentation, coordinating incident response, enhancing governance to address operational risks, and providing project management support for ongoing initiatives. Perform ongoing monitoring on security operations hygiene, controls compliance by leveraging variety of management tools and techniques to detect operational irregularities and lapses. Support development, maintenance and streamline documentation of operational SOPs, playbooks, configuration baselines, operational reports to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure prompt and efficient incident response and support containment activities. Drive and improve security governance to identify operational gaps and risk across the security solution stack. Provide project management support in ongoing initiatives 4. Architecture and Engineering Operations Intern (Architecture) This role will assist in supporting in the development and execution of Temasek’s cybersecurity defense strategy and planning for future cybersecurity needs. Support security technology evaluations and proof-of-concept for security solutions, documenting findings and recommendations Research emerging security threats, technologies, vulnerabilities, and industry trends Assist in creating technical security documentation, diagrams and presentations to support solution design and stakeholder communication 5. Innovation, Incubation & Initiatives Intern Assist the team by researching and evaluating emerging technology risks (e.g., quantum computing, agentic AI) and identifying potential security use-cases and mitigations. Support initiatives to enhance detection of hard-to-detect threats by exploring advanced solutions (e.g., automation, advanced analytics) to improve alert quality, triage speed, and mitigation workflows. Additional scope may include supporting the establishment of an Insider Risk & Security (IRS) capability to improve visibility of insider threats and enable timely response actions. Requirements Able to commit full-time for a minimum of 20 weeks, preferably from July 2026 onwards, and will still be enrolled with a recognised university by the end of the internship. University undergraduates pursuing any of these majors/degrees: Computer Science, Information Security, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, IT Management. We also welcome applicants from other disciplines with demonstrated interest in cybersecurity. What we are looking for Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Prior internship experience(s) with demonstrated capabilities in cybersecurity, IT security or related fields will be considered a strong plus. Adaptive in fast paced environment and able to multi-task and handle complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Actively listen to instructions and demonstrate an understanding of assignment expectations (deadlines and deliverables). Demonstrate critical thinking, curiosity, resourcefulness, and an eagerness to learn. Meticulous and detail-oriented with the ability to identify, manage, and resolve issues. Comfortable with ambiguity, self-motivated, and proactive. Possess integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive information. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite such as Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
