RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will be responsible for conducting research on developing LLM agentic systems for pen-testing. Successful candidate will be part of an active research team led by Assistant Prof. MA Yunshan from School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS), Singapore Management University (SMU).

  • Survey existing LLM agentic systems for pen-testing.
  • Adapt and develop existing LLM agentic systems to pen-testing scenarios.
  • Test the system on benchmarking testbed and environments.
  • Address the limitations identified during testing and propose novel ideas to enhance the system.
  • Write papers and submit to top-tier conferences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum PhD degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines from a reputable institution of higher learning; with particular focus on Large Language Models, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, or Cyber Security.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant research experience in Artificial Intelligence or Cyber Security.
  • Proficiency in programming software/languages such as python and pytorch is required.
  • Proven track record and professional experience in publications of top-tier AI and relevant conference.
  • Demonstrated experience and know-how on deployment and fine-tuning of LLMs.
  • Excellent working knowledge of deep learning.
  • Technical skills in linux system usage.
  • Ability to break down complex problems and design effective solutions.
  • Innovating new approaches and thinking outside the box.
  • Applicants with research publications in cyber security area will be advantageous.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a small, agile academic research team is essential.
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively with team members.
