Staff Data Scientist (Process & Equipment Analytics)

About our group: RMO Sputter Process Engineering team – Be responsible to engineer solutions in the process control monitoring and improvement for PMR and HAMR products and provide technical & engineering support to enhance ultra-high vacuum (UHV) sputter machines with upgrades to improve OEE, unscheduled/scheduled downtime, operations, process capabilities, indirect material (IDM)/hardware/consumables cost reduction, productivity, new product conversion requirements & readiness, media performance and defects reduction. About the role - you will: Develop the smart sputter process system, a cornerstone of the smart sputter ecosystem. The system auto performs sputter process control and prediction, quality control, and OEE deep dive. Refine sputter machine KPIV (Key Process Input Variables) anomaly monitoring system for optimized HAMR and PMR product configuration. Collaborate closely with cross functional teams – Equipment, Process, Launch, Maintenance, IT. About you: Innovative, Integrity, Inclusion. Relationship builder with strong stakeholder management abilities. Your experience includes: Bachelor’s degree in AI, data science, computer science, computer engineering, or any relevant fields. Knowledge in: Python / R Language / C++ / C# programming Traditional and Agentic AI Machine learning and Deep learning Data analytics and Statistical analysis SQL Database or equivalent GitHub Linux Kubernetes, Dockers Strong experience in data visualization, especially Tableau applications. Hands on experience in JavaScript / HTML / Django / JSON / Web Development. Deployment of AI/ML models into real products. Experience working in a high-tech manufacturing environment preferred. Leveraging proven ability to drive change, deliver exceptional support, and collaborate effectively with colleagues as part of a productive team. You might also have: Knowledge of Thin Film / PVD / CVD / Etch / Ion Beam / Ion Implantation process. Ultra-High Vacuum tool is an added advantage.
