Data Trust Security Researcher (Graduate Hire)

About our group: Seagate Research Group (SRG) conducts research to transform Seagate’s considerable technical expertise , innovation, and manufacturing excellence to develop innovative technologies for the rapidly growing datasphere. SRG - Data Trust (DT) Vector focuses on increasing security & privacy capabilities to anchor Seagate as the industry leader of trustworthy storage solutions. Currently , the DT team is seeking a candidate to research exciting emerging cryptographical algorithms, protocol and/or security technologies. This position offers a variety of opportunities to prototype, experiment, and benchmark innovative ideas and concepts in projects. About the role - you will: The candidate will be involved in projects involving proof of concepts applying cryptographical algorithm s (PQC and non-PQC) , protocols and memory safe languages for embedded environments . The successful candidate will work with the global team of Seagate Research around one or more of the following: Cryptography Product and data security The candidate is expected to apply his/her knowledge to research threat landscape and state of the art technologies to address the threats. About you: Good knowledge on Cryptography Standards / Protocols Memory safe programming languages Good team player, Can-do attitude and willing to learn Good communication skills Your experience includes: Experience with implementing or creating cryptographic algorithms Experience in embedded system involving security project s Software development Embedded system Coding or Programming Biometric security systems Development in Linux environment FPGA development for cryptography or security projects Location: The Shugart site (named after Seagate’s founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center.
