The Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Technical Services Intern with a focus on protein purification processes. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The intern will assist engineers in various tasks related to the optimization, troubleshooting, documentation, and data analysis of protein purification steps, directly contributing to the efficiency and quality of our biomanufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of data from protein purification processes (e.g., chromatography, filtration) to identify trends, process deviations, and areas for improvement.
Support engineers in troubleshooting purification process issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
Help develop and update manufacturing documentation specific to protein purification, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch records, and technical reports.
Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing yield, purity, and throughput of protein purification steps.
Conduct small-scale laboratory experiments to support process development, optimization, and validation for purification, with a particular focus on chromatography techniques.
Assist in lab-scale testing and characterization of process intermediates to support process understanding and quality control.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the protein purification technical services team.
Qualifications:
Preferred: Laboratory experience with various chromatography techniques (e.g., affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with statistical software or data analysis tools is strongly preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Familiarity with cGMP environments or biopharmaceutical manufacturing principles is a plus.
