Responsibilities:

You are on a journey to join an exciting Company and be part of our success story. Here we will equip you with the know-how and experience that will define your growth. In this role that you are about to embark on, you are required to carry out the following responsibilities:

  • Strategically manage the overall Energy portfolio in operational procurement to support the mills globally, with focus on Indonesia /Malaysia mills
  • Lead a proactive, collaborative and communicative process to select, manage, establish strong partnerships and relationships with external counterparties and internal stakeholders. Ensure cost, quality, delivery, reliability and technical performance while achieving both tactical and strategic goals
  • Be well-versed in the life cycle of a commercial trade/ deal and must have prior hands-on experiences in most of these activities
  • Be commercially competent in being able to lead business development projects (e.g. acquisitions, joint ventures investments) where necessary to create long term value for the stakeholders
  • Be proficient in identifying, qualifying and establishing new vendors, striving to meet and exceed our customers' quality requirements for the energy commodities.
  • Be proficient in analyzing markets and knowing how to turn data into actionable market intelligence to execute better procurement strategies
  • Effective and efficient communicator to senior management and external counterparties from diverse global locations
  • Responsible to achieve assigned cost savings targets
  • Study and monitor the market conditions for making sound and timely purchasing decision
  • Take a global lead role in overseeing the key energy purchases across all mills to develop a commodity strategy which is in line with global strategy
  • Provide regular market updates to senior management
  • Any other ad-hoc activities as assigned by reporting manager

To be successful in this role, it is recommended that you should have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Graduate in Engineering or Business Management. Masters would be an advantage.
  • Managed at least a P&L trading book or procurement spend of US$200 million per year. Managed one or two Contract Manufacturing assignments/projects.
  • Past overseas working experience would be an advantage
  • Minimum 2 years of procurement (direct) and/or commodities trading experience.
  • Energy commodity buying (or Sales/trading) knowledge and experience is preferable
  • Must have excellent negotiation skills and a proven track record in goal achievement
  • Demonstrates ability in being able to frame up (including economics of) mid to long term business development projects
  • Require long term strategic thinking mindset
  • Good interpersonal and communication skill to interact with different levels of people
  • Good working attitude and willing to adapt to local culture and way of working
  • Proven management experience in managing small teams to achieve common goals
  • Must have good ethics and able to conduct himself or herself honestly and with compliance
  • Proven experience in market analysis or data analytics would be a plus
  • Proficient in English language (written and spoken). 2nd language proficiency (e.g. Bahasa Indonesian or Chinese) will be a plus
