This is a senior, execution-focused strategy role reporting to the Head of Distribution Strategy, Performance and Compensation. You will act as a strategic partner and problem-solver, working closely with channel chiefs and cross-functional leaders to diagnose issues, design commercial plans, and drive the execution of strategic priorities across all distribution channels. Your mandate is to translate strategy into action, fix what’s broken, and ensure business improvement through hands-on leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Forum

  • Lead analysis and business modelling with channel heads to design commercial plans (“how we win”) for upcoming quarters and years.

  • Align identified commercial priorities across divisions, coordinating seller programs, customer programs, and product propositions.

  • Ensure execution of commercial priorities across all divisions and rigorously track results.

Channel Strategy & Business Improvement

  • Define each channel’s strategy in partnership with channel chiefs, including market positioning, proposition, branding, and new channel considerations.

  • Lead ad-hoc improvement projects within distribution channels to strengthen business foundations (e.g., partner with Head of Recruitment to redesign new agent support ecosystem).

  • Diagnose operational and strategic issues within channels and develop actionable solutions.

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to resolve business challenges and implement strategic initiatives.

Execution & Change Management

  • Act as the “hands and legs” of the Head of Distribution Strategy, ensuring strategic plans are translated into operational reality.

  • Track, report, and communicate progress on strategic initiatives to senior leadership.

  • Champion the adoption of digital tools, automation, and best practices to improve channel effectiveness.

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Mentor and upskill junior strategy team members, fostering a culture of applied strategic thinking and problem-solving.

  • Share best practices and lessons learned across the team to build collective capability.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in applied strategy, finance, or a related field, with a strong track record in distribution strategy (insurance/financial services preferred).

  • Proven track record of diagnosing and solving complex business problems, driving execution, and delivering measurable results.

  • Strong analytical, business modelling, and project management skills.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior staff.
