How you succeed

We are seeking a skilled Middleware Security Engineer to join our Middleware team, focusing on establishing and maintaining security baselines for middleware platforms. The ideal candidate will interpret industry security standards and best practices, transforming them into automated scripts to enable consistent, repeatable, and reusable baseline checks across our middleware environments. This role is critical to ensuring the security and compliance posture of our middleware infrastructure.


What you do

  • Support existing setup within the bank across multiple middleware components.

  • Manage, monitor and plan to ensure all components are complaint, up-to-date and secure.

  • Analyse and interpret industry security standards (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001) relevant to middleware technologies

  • Continuously monitor, update, and improve security baselines to address emerging threats and changes in standards.

  • Translate security standards and policies into automated scripts and tools to perform baseline compliance checks.

  • Collaborate with middleware administrators, security teams, and infra teams to integrate baseline checks into larger management platforms like BigFix to facilitate automation and execution

  • Highly analytical with strong understanding of IT fundamentals and general knowledge regarding Enterprise IT

  • Able to provide onsite support outside regular hours as required

  • Positive attitude towards continuous learning. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Work under minimal supervision & take ownership of tasks and projects end to end.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience.

  • Middleware administrations certifications in Weblogic, IBM MQ, Websphere and JBOSS will be added advantage. 

  • Proven experience working with middleware technologies like Weblogic, WebSphere, JBOSS, Tomcat, IBM HTTP Server, IBM MQ, WebSphere Plugin.

  • Strong understanding of security standards and frameworks such as CIS Benchmarks, NIST, ISO 27001, or equivalent.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Ansible, Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Groovy to automate security checks.

  • Experience with configuration management and automation platforms like Bigfix and Tanium.

  • Knowledge of security concepts including vulnerability management, patching, and secure configuration

  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills. Result driven with a positive can-do attitude.
