NTU is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team in Office of Development and Facilities Management. The department oversees the physical development and maintenance of all university buildings and grounds in support of the academic, research, continuing education and training, and administrative functions of the University. As a Senior Assistant Manager, your role encompasses comprehensive operations and maintenance of the designated M&E services and steering their upgrading works to ensure long-term reliability.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the operation and maintenance of Vertical Transportation systems, including passenger, firemen, evacuation, service, cargo lifts, platform lifts and dumbwaiters.
Manage the maintenance of ELV systems such as Telephony, TCP/IP Synchronized Real Time Clock, MATV systems, and associated telecom and M&E manholes within the underground piping network.
Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance works carried out by term contractors to ensure system reliability and uninterrupted operation.
Review maintenance reports, breakdown trends and system performance to identify recurring issues and recommend improvement actions.
Oversee term contractors to ensure maintenance works are carried out in accordance with contract requirements, safety standards and service levels.
Responsible for asset management through proper tracking of asset condition, maintenance history and lifecycle information.
Oversee upgrading and improvement projects to enhance safety, reliability, accessibility and operational effectiveness of systems.
Manage internal stakeholders, consultants and contractors during project implementation.
Ensure M&E systems and works comply with statutory requirements, codes of practice, and internal governance frameworks.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Facilities Management.
At least 5 years’ experience in facilities management or M&E related field.
Strong technical understanding of building services M&E systems, particularly lift, ELV and related infrastructure, enabling detailed design review, system interfacing, fault diagnosis, and optimization of system performance, reliability and maintainability.
Hands-on experience in facilities management for lift, ELV and associated M&E systems, including supervising term contractors on-site, verifying maintenance and rectification works, ensuring compliance with statutory and safety requirements, and maintaining dependable day-to-day operations.
Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Effective communication skills, able to work with stakeholders and contractors to resolve issues.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills, with a hands-on approach to fault diagnosis and resolution.
Proactive and take ownership of assignments and challenges.
Able to work independently.
Continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in improving work processes and system performance.
