Full Description

The candidate will be expected to work on a project in collaboration with Schaeffler to conduct research on “collision monitoring and control system of cobot based on fiber optic sensing and deep learning”.

As a Research Fellow, you will be supporting the Project Lead to deliver the project, ensuring that the overall project output meets the requirements. These range from fundamental technical research, to design of experiments, to control project spending. Research Fellow will also be dealing with internal, external stakeholders and will be accountable for the successful delivery to cost, specification and time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal team members, interfacing teams, partners and suppliers to ensure technical requirements are understood as required

  • Develop Design of experiments (DoE) plan

  • Plan and execute experiments

  • Capture and analyse data

  • Resolve technical problems

  • Perform technical research and technical report writing

Requirements:

  • PhD in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic, Optical Engineering or related field from a reputable University

  • Expertise in application of AI

  • Experience in condition monitoring or structural health monitoring

  • Good publication track record

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++ and Python
