  • Support implementation and evaluation of radar signal-processing and machine-learning algorithms.

Full Description

The Research Engineer will support research projects involving radar sensing systems for remote sensing in complex environments. The role requires a solid understanding of radar operating principles and familiarity with radar signal-processing algorithms.

Key responsibilities include contributing to radar hardware architecture, system integration, and the construction of experimental sensing platforms; configuring radar front-ends and antennas; implementing data-acquisition pipelines; and integrating RF, baseband, and signal-processing modules. The Research Engineer will also assist in system validation, calibration, and performance benchmarking. This position plays a crucial role in building reliable radar prototypes and enabling advanced remote-sensing research across diverse applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure radar waveforms, antenna arrays, and acquisition parameters to support radar operation, such as waveform generation, beamforming, target detection and tracking.

  • Conduct system validation, calibration, and performance characterization across various environments.

  • Perform controlled laboratory experiments and real-world data-collection campaigns, ensuring high-quality datasets for research.

  • Support the implementation and evaluation of radar signal-processing and machine-learning algorithms (e.g., range-Doppler processing, beamforming, clutter suppression, micro-Doppler extraction).

  • Document system configurations, experimental procedures, and test results for internal reports and research publications.

  • Collaborate with researchers and students to support experimental needs and contribute to continuous platform improvements.

  • Assist in project reporting, technical documentation, and dissemination of research outcomes.

Job Requirements:

  • MSc/ MEng/ BEng in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or other related fields.

  • Background in RF systems, radar hardware, embedded systems, or sensing technologies is preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with radar signal processing and RF test equipment.
