Full Description

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore has 33,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students across engineering, business, science, humanities, arts, social sciences, education and medicine. Ranked among the world’s top universities, the University’s Student Talent Attraction and Development (STAND) Committee oversees initiatives to attract and develop undergraduate talent. As part of this Committee, the Manager will work closely with the Associate Vice Provost (Strategy) and the Vice Provost (Student) to spearhead these initiatives.

To support this mandate, NTU is appointing two Managers, and portfolio allocation across programs will be determined based on the strengths, experience, and stakeholder engagement capabilities of the successful candidates. You will play a key role in supporting the STAND Committee in developing strategy and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to implement initiatives that enable undergraduate students to lead talent-related projects, develop leadership skills, and explore intellectual boundaries through interdisciplinary collaborations with fellow students and scholars.


Responsibilities

Student Talent Attraction and Development

  • Work with the STAND Team to conduct desk research, develop and propose new directions for university-wide initiatives 

  • Collaborate closely with the STAND Committee in driving university-wide initiatives to attract talented students to NTU and to develop talent within the NTU community.

  • Implement and collaborate with colleges, schools, and partners to co-create platforms and opportunities that showcase students’ talents and promote leadership, service, and holistic growth.

  • Monitor the effectiveness and impact of these initiatives and recommend enhancements to strengthen talent development efforts across the university.

  • Serve as secretariat to the STAND Committee, managing meeting logistics, preparing materials, and documenting discussions, decisions, and follow-up actions.

Student Talent Development Programmes (STDP 2.0)

  • Design, develop, and implement operational strategies to manage talent development programs and develop Undergraduate student talent at NTU.

  • Work closely with colleges, schools, offices and vendors to design and deliver training sessions and workshops, mentoring initiatives to enhance talent and skills, and develop strategies to attract students to the programme.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of talent development programmes and make any necessary adjustments.

  • Budgeting and expenditure tracking.

NTU Talent Scholarship Application (NTS)

  • Lead the STAND Team to design, develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies and materials in collaboration with NTU colleges, schools and various offices.

  • Design, develop and implement outreach programmes to engage potential candidates and build strong relationships and pipelines, in collaboration with JC, Polytechnics, and external institutions.

  • Manage scholarship initiatives, including the application process, selection criteria, and the identification and invitation of panelists of domain experts and interviews.

  • Establish ongoing relationships with domain experts and interview panellists, and with scholarship recipients, providing support during the application process and throughout the recipient’s educational journey.

  • Design and implement talent engagement sessions (4-6 times a year).

  • Manage talent grants and maintain accurate records of scholarship recipients and programme impact.

NTU President Award Application (NTUPA)

  • Work with the STAND Team to collaborate with colleges, schools and various offices to nominate the top 5% of T1 students.

  • Manage award initiatives, including the application process, selection criteria, and identifying and inviting senior management for small-group interviews.

  • Establish ongoing relationships with senior management and awardees, providing support during the application process and throughout the awardee’s educational journey.

  • Design, implement and manage mentorship programme with the NTU President, the NTU BOT Chairman & members, and recipients.

  • Design and implement engagement and development sessions (4-6 times a year).

  • Maintain accurate records of awardees and of award impact.

NTU Honours College (Admissions & Development)

  • Support the NTU Honours College admissions process, including processing of applications, coordination of selection activities, and communication with applicants and relevant stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with colleges, schools, and administrative offices to ensure smooth execution of admissions-related activities and adherence to selection timelines.

  • Work closely with faculty leads and support the design and implementation of development initiatives that enhance the Honours College experience and strengthen the scholar community.

  • Support data management, reporting, and tracking of participation and outcomes to inform continuous improvement.

  • Work collaboratively with NTU Honours College to support enquiry handling, student communication, and follow-up coordination, ensuring consistency and a positive experience for prospective and current students.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management, colleges, schools and department heads, to ensure alignment of initiatives with organizational goals.

  • Collaborate with external partners, such as educational institutions, industry experts, and sponsors, to leverage their expertise and support for initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Education, Event Management).

  • Minimum of 8 years of proven experience managing initiatives such as leadership programs, scholarships or symposiums.

  • Possess strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Exceptional organizational and attention-to-detail abilities, ensuring high-quality execution of initiatives.

  • Proficiency in using project management tools and software.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, as well as in cross-functional teams.

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to drive initiatives forward with minimal supervision.

  • A passion for education, student talent attraction and development, and fostering growth opportunities.
