The NTU Student Affairs Office (SAO) plays a pivotal role in fostering the holistic development of students. SAO is dedicated to fulfilling its mission of collaborating and co-creating a vibrant, meaningful, and enriching student life experience with its partners. This is achieved by promoting students' personal growth through co-curricular learning opportunities, which include student-led activities, leadership development initiatives, residential hall programmes, integration efforts, community engagement initiatives, as well as arts and sports development.
This position will lead the Marketing & Communications and Overseas Community Engagement portfolios within the Student Affairs Office (SAO). These functions are critical in driving the visibility of student life initiatives and providing students with meaningful service-learning opportunities beyond the classroom to equip them with global perspectives and empathy.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Communication Strategy
Support the communication and outreach initiatives for SAO, including maintaining the internet/intranet webpages and managing official social media channels (Instagram, Telegram etc).
Plan and coordinate the production of communication collaterals for key student life events (e.g. Transition & Orientation Programme), including digital publications, electronic direct mailers, videos, and banners.
Execute outreach events to engage the NTU student body.
Overseas Community Engagement Projects Management
- Support the Assistant Director in managing the end-to-end administration of Overseas Community Engagement Projects (OCEP) which includes:
Liaising with both Service Providers & National Youth Council.
Risk Assessment and safety protocol compliance.
Student Leaders mentoring and training.
Support student groups when overseas, serving as a point of contact for students during overseas trips.
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor junior staff, ensuring high-quality output in daily operations, content creation, and project execution.
Oversee any budget management required for marketing campaigns and overseas projects.
Assist in the provision of regular data or reports regarding student engagement reach and programme impact.
Requirements
Degree in any discipline with at least 5 years of relevant working experience in Marketing, Communications, or Youth Development.
Prior experience in supervising staff or leading projects will be advantageous.
Possess working knowledge of digital content creation tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and social media management.
Experience in planning overseas trips, volunteer management, or conducting risk assessments will be advantageous.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with people at different levels of the organisation.
Prepared to travel internationally for project supervision (estimated frequency of 2 – 3 times a year) when necessary.
During the academic term, candidates may be required to support student events held on weekday evenings or weekends. Appropriate time-off will be granted accordingly.
