The NTU Student Affairs Office (SAO) plays a pivotal role in fostering the holistic development of students. We collaborate and co-create a vibrant, meaningful, and enriching student life experience through:

  • Student-led activities and leadership development initiatives

  • Residential hall programmes and integration efforts

  • Community engagement and overseas service-learning projects

  • Arts, sports, and wellness programmes


The Assistant Director, Student Life and Campus Vibrancy supports the Deputy Director in the planning, execution, and continuous enhancement of student life initiatives across campus. This role is instrumental in driving strategic efforts related to Residential Life, and in strengthening engagement with academic units and scholarship communities.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Implementation & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Implement strategic plans and programmes under the Residential Life framework across all NTU Halls of Residence, ensuring direct alignment with the strategic goals of NTU 2030.

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders (e.g., Faculty-in-Residence, Hall Councils, Residential Mentors) to integrate Residential Life initiatives with complementary efforts from other University units, thereby enhancing student development and enriching the residential experience.

  • Academic and Scholar Program Alignment: Collaborate with schools/colleges and NTU Scholar Programmes (SP) offices to define and achieve desired strategic learning outcomes for students through the academic and SP clubs platform.

Governance, Process, and Operational Oversight

  • Review and strengthen governance and operational processes within Residential Life to ensure they remain relevant, student-centered, and fully compliant with University protocols.

  • Direct and oversee the unit’s day-to-day operations for both the Residential Experience and Academic Clubs, ensuring effective workflows and high-quality service delivery.

  • Forecast and manage the unit’s annual budget, ensuring prudent, transparent, and strategic use of resources.

Student Club Development

  • Provide high-level advisory support and supervise the end-to-end administration for Hall Councils, Academic Clubs, and Scholars Clubs, ensuring compliance, operational consistency, and fostering a positive student leadership experience.

  • Work with schools/colleges and SP offices to facilitate student development and growth through the annual club elections, work plan and budgeting processes, as well as providing guidance on programme/project leadership and management.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any related field.

  • At least 10 years of working experience which involves considerable interaction with students or youth, with minimum 3 years in supervisory role.

  • Experience in the tertiary education sector will be advantageous.

  • Analytical and conceptual skills, especially in understanding organisational change and making judicious decisions.

  • Communication, negotiation and influencing skills (written and verbal), especially in working collaboratively with university students and colleagues from different cultural and disciplinary backgrounds.

  • Resourceful, good analytical skills, operationally strong and detail-oriented with good problem-solving capabilities.

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office application software.
