What you'll do:
As a Credit Review Specialist based in Singapore, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of the organisation’s credit portfolios across multiple regions. Your day-to-day activities will involve conducting thorough examinations of credit exposures and risk management practices for various business units. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders at all levels to ensure robust audit delivery while maintaining high standards of quality assurance. By leveraging your analytical skills and attention to detail, you will assess frameworks governing credit risk, evaluate asset quality, monitor compliance with policies and regulations, and provide insightful recommendations for process improvements. Your ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously will be essential as you oversee audit engagements from planning through execution. Regular communication with stakeholders will enable you to address emerging risks proactively while fostering an environment built on trust and cooperation. Participate in or lead comprehensive examinations of credit exposures and end-to-end credit risk management processes for various business units, branches, and subsidiaries throughout the Asia & Oceania region.
Conduct detailed reviews of individual obligors' credit risks and transactional risks as well as ongoing monitoring processes, providing third-line assurance on risk management quality.
Assess frameworks, policies, procedures, and practices related to credit risk, including validation of credit ratings, analysis of individual credits, underwriting quality reviews, and internal risk-grade classification.
Evaluate asset quality and credit administration practices by reviewing risk rating integrity, portfolio quality, loan documentation completeness, policy adequacy, and adherence.
Maintain the audit universe and perform dynamic risk assessments of auditable entities while managing the audit plan throughout the year.
Ensure timely delivery of audits within established methodology and standards by overseeing project management of audit engagements with clear focus on timelines and deliverables.
Address potential findings promptly during audits by working iteratively with stakeholders on issue follow-up and maintaining regular communication to drive effective issue management.
Execute periodic evaluations of internal credit processes for accuracy and compliance with corporate policies as well as regulatory requirements.
Monitor analysis of credit files, financial documents, projections, and industry trends to identify potential risks within portfolios.
Document findings and observations clearly while presenting recommendations to leadership for improved processes and controls; follow up for satisfactory completion of outstanding issues.
What you bring:
To excel as a Credit Review Specialist in this esteemed financial institution, your extensive experience in corporate credit analysis—particularly within multinational environments—will be invaluable. Your academic background should ideally include a degree in Accounting or Finance complemented by relevant professional certifications such as CA or CFA. You bring proven expertise not only in evaluating complex credit applications but also in overseeing risk assessment methodologies that underpin sound decision-making. Your familiarity with specialised finance products further strengthens your ability to navigate intricate portfolios. In addition to technical proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and BI tools like Power BI or Tableau for data analytics tasks, your interpersonal skills set you apart: you communicate effectively across teams while demonstrating empathy towards colleagues’ perspectives. Your commitment to accuracy ensures meticulous documentation of findings while your resilience allows you to adapt flexibly when faced with evolving challenges. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline is preferred; advanced degree is desirable for deeper subject matter expertise.
Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certifications are highly desirable; Data Analyst Certifications are viewed positively for added analytical capability.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in corporate credit analysis within banking or financial sector; expertise in multi-national corporates is especially valued.
Extensive background in preparing, reviewing or approving credit applications and borrower ratings ensures strong foundational knowledge.
Experience in Financial Institution credits or specialised finance areas such as fund finance, securitisation, leveraged finance, project finance or aviation finance is highly desirable.
Proven track record in risk assessment methodologies, audit execution and controls oversight functions demonstrates reliability.
Deep understanding of legal credit documentation supports accurate evaluation of loan transactions.
Advanced financial analytics or accounting skills are mandatory for effective portfolio analysis.
Excellent Microsoft Office proficiency including Excel, PowerPoint and Word enables efficient reporting; experience with data processing or BI tools like Power BI or Tableau enhances data visualisation capabilities.
Outstanding project management skills combined with ability to engage constructively with all levels of business line management fosters successful collaboration.
