Staff Backend Engineer: High-Frequency Trading Systems
Location: Remote - Fully remote in Asia
Compensation: $70K - $80K

We are seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to own and scale the low-latency, high-throughput systems that sit directly in our trade execution path. This is not a "standard" backend role; you will build performance-critical infrastructure where micro-optimizations, architectural correctness, and extreme reliability are the difference between success and failure. You will work in a high-stakes environment where your code manages real money and real volume every second.
Responsibilities
- Core Trading Systems: Design and architect robust backend systems for order routing, real-time execution, pricing engines, and financial reconciliation.
- Performance Engineering: Optimize services for sub-millisecond latency, high throughput, and maximum fault tolerance across a distributed architecture.
- Architecture & Strategy: Take full ownership of architectural decisions with immediate production impact, working directly with the CEO, COO, and founding engineering team.
- Production Excellence: Operate close to the "money flow," ensuring system integrity during periods of extreme market volatility and high-volume bursts.
- Foundational Impact: Act as a technical leader, mentoring founding engineers and setting the standard for engineering excellence as we scale from 100% weekly growth to global dominance.
