Reporting Structure
Reports directly to JLL Assistant Facilities Manager (AFM)
Purpose of Role
The Roving Technician provides responsive, multi-site technical support across the retail facilities network, delivering on-site repairs, inspections, and emergency response services. This mobile position ensures continuous facility operations through proactive maintenance, rapid problem resolution, and quality oversight of vendor work to maintain optimal store environments.
Duties and Responsibilities
Principal Accountabilities
Mobile Technical Services: Execute on-site repair and maintenance work across multiple locations based on work order priorities established by the Account Facilities Manager, ensuring timely resolution of facility issues to minimize operational impact.
Quality Assurance & Inspection: Conduct comprehensive site inspections using Service Channel tools (FM2 forms) and perform quality checks on major repairs completed by approved vendors to ensure work standards and compliance requirements are met.
Emergency Response Operations: Provide immediate technical response during facility emergencies outside normal store operating hours, ensuring rapid on-site presence and effective problem resolution to maintain business continuity.
Technical Advisory Services: Assess facility breakdown situations and provide expert recommendations for repair solutions, contributing technical expertise to optimize maintenance approaches and cost-effectiveness.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Planned Maintenance & Repairs
Plan and prioritize repair activities based on work order lists provided by the AFM
Conduct on-site rectification work across multiple store locations
Execute technical repairs efficiently while minimizing disruption to store operations
Coordinate site access and safety protocols for all maintenance activities
Inspection & Quality Control
Perform systematic site inspections using designated Service Channel tools and FM2 documentation
Conduct thorough quality checks and verification of major repairs completed by approved vendor partners
Document inspection findings and communicate any concerns or recommendations to management
Ensure all completed work meets established technical standards and compliance requirements
Emergency Response & Support
Maintain on-call availability during non-operational hours for emergency facility issues
Respond rapidly to emergency breakdown situations with immediate on-site presence
Provide quick assessment and initial response to urgent facility problems
Coordinate with emergency services, vendors, or additional resources as required
Technical Assessment & Recommendations
Analyze breakdown situations and equipment failures to determine root causes
Develop and communicate practical rectification suggestions for facility issues
Provide technical input on repair approaches, equipment selection, and maintenance strategies
Contribute expertise to improve overall facility maintenance effectiveness
Administrative & Communication Functions
Complete accurate documentation of all work performed and inspections conducted
Communicate work status updates and technical findings to the Account Facilities Manager
Coordinate with store management regarding scheduled work and any operational considerations
Execute additional technical assignments and projects as delegated by management
